2022 Corporate Partner

Belong@Eakin is a colleague engagement group, within Eakin Healthcare representing the colleagues at the Comber site. They lead the development and implementation of activities that promote Social Responsibility while also aiming to enhance working life and  create opportunities for employees to get involved in giving back to local communities and charities.

Dara Irwin, HR Manager for the company commented, 'Belong@Eakin, a part of Eakin Healthcare, enjoyed and was proud to be working with CAUSE as our charity partner for the 2022/23 year. The support that CAUSE provides to families, partners and friends who are impacted by their loved one’s mental illness is vitally important in our communities. Throughout the year, the team in Comber enjoyed immensely providing support through volunteering and organizing fundraising events whilst also actively promoting awareness within our team of the support CAUSE can provide to those in need.'

Fundraising actvities included Run 5 for CAUSE , a Cuppacake Day at their offices in Comber and the final glitzy 'Strictly with Belong@Eakin' last November.   Fundraising spokesperson for the company, Carolyn Busby, summed up her Strictly experience,

'I’ve had some great opportunities in my career to do fun things and travel to new places but the experience of dancing in the Strictly 1980s fundraiser for CAUSE is up there as one of the best things I’ve ever signed myself up for. It was a fun journey and CAUSE has stolen my heart with the amazing work they’re doing to support those caring for loved ones with serious mental health issues.

As a family we were in the middle of AQE season with my eldest daughter and with some other minor stresses to deal with I could have easily sat this one out but I’m so glad I didn’t. The dancers and the choreography team are the best bunch and have made me (and my daughters) laugh over the weeks of training! One of our company beliefs is “Laughter is the best medicine” and our Strictly for CAUSE family DEFINITELY spread the laughter.'
