The Multi Agency Triage Team - Crisis De-escalation Service is returning to face to face engagement from this weekend, Friday 12th June. The service can be accessed for clients experiencing a mental health crisis by phoning 999 or 101. This service operates in the Belfast and South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust areas made up of mental health professionals working alongside dedicated police officers and paramedics in a Mobile Community Unit (Ambulance).
The Initiative enables the PSNI, NIAS and South Eastern & Belfast HSC Trusts’ mental health professionals to work collaboratively, to ensure an individual receives the most appropriate care possible, when concerns about their mental wellbeing are reported to PSNI and NIAS. The service is operational between the hours of 7pm to 7am on a Friday and Saturday night; due to Covid-19 social distancing is currently in place and a telephone triage service is operational.
