Shortly before the outbreak of CORVID 19, our carers has just attended our first CAUSE Carers Craft Club.  We had carers crocheting, knitting,  creating beautiful pebble pictures and much much more.

We even had our Rugby Rabbits ready for the rugby season!  Sadly our club is postponed for the immediate future, however we are appealing to the general public to Get Crafty for CAUSE - there's is no better time to get involved.

A great time to pass on these skills to other members of the family or your housemates!

Would you knit, crochet, paint or create items that you can sell or we can sell to raise much needed funds to replace the many fundraising events we have had to cancel or postpone.  We are hoping to have our online Craft Shop open for the summer and we hope to be holding our own Craft Fair around Halloween.

We can email you easy knitting patterns for our lovely teddies and bunnies in fact we can make lovely little teddies from a knitted square!

Host your own Virtual Crafternoon with friends, colleagues and family all from the safety and comfort of your own home, whilst supporting CAUSE.

By holding a Virtual Crafternoon, you’ll be raising money to help us continue to support those people impacted by someone living with a serious mental illness.

How to get started

Set up your Fundraising Page if you are not sending us craft items to sell

Set up your CAUSE fundraising page on our website https://www.cause.org.uk/Pages/Fundraisers/  include the reasons why you're supporting CAUSE and some information on the Virtual Crafternoon you'll be hosting.

Decide on how you will stay connected

We recommend using Zoom  or  Skype to host your Virtual Crafternoon. Simply choose which platform you'll be using and share the link with your guests. Once everyone is logged on - get crafting!

Hold the Crafternoon that's right for you!

Feel free to start small, invite one or two friends for a virtual catch up, cuppa and try some new crafting ideas together. Make sure to send through your Fundraising page  link to encourage donations.

Don't be afraid to ask.

It’s important that your guests understand upfront that this is a fundraising event, you’ll find the clearer you are about that, the more generous they’ll be.

Choose crafts to help brighten your day!

Why not make some cards for family members to show you're missing them, a crocheted blanket for a new addition or a summer or Christmas wreath to hang on your door? Whatever you choose to make, by hosting your own Virtual Crafternoon you'll be helping to support CAUSE during these challenging times.

Deciding on your perfect Virtual Crafternoon can be difficult, take a look at some of our ideas below that you and your crafters can enjoy, whilst raising vital funds to support our services.
