Hobbies like baking and crafting can really help our mental health.  They can give us time and space away from our day-to-day life.  And why not combine your passion to help CAUSE this winter.

Host your own Craft-In party       

By holding a virtual Craft-In for CAUSE, you’ll be raising money to help us continue to support those people impacted by someone living with a serious mental illness.

How to get started: 

Set up your Fundraising Page 

Set up your CAUSE fundraising page on our website https://www.cause.org.uk/Pages/Fundraisers/  include the reasons why you're supporting CAUSE and some information on the Craft-In you'll be hosting.

Hold the Craft-In that's right for you! 

Feel free to start small, invite one or two friends for your catch up, cuppa and try some new crafting ideas together. Make sure to send through your Fundraising page  link to encourage donations.

Don't be afraid to ask. 

It’s important that your guests understand upfront that this is a fundraising event, you’ll find the clearer you are about that, the more generous they’ll be.

Choose crafts to help brighten your day!

Why not make some cards for family members, a crocheted blanket for a new addition or a summer or Christmas wreath to hang on your door? Whatever you choose to make, by hosting your own Craft-In you'll be helping to support CAUSE during these challenging times.

Deciding on your perfect Craft-In can be difficult, take a look at some of our ideas below that you and your crafters can enjoy, whilst raising vital funds to support our services.

• Knit CAUSE’s Ted from a Square or from another CAUSE pattern   
• Easter Chicks that cover your favourite creme egg 
• Summer,  Halloween or Christmas Wreaths
• Flower Table Centres 
• Artwork and Paintings 
• Handmade cards  
• Patchwork cushions or quilts
• Painted Pebbles or Mosaic frames
• Shabby Chic'd Furniture 
• Christmas or  CAUSE Bunting 
• Recycle a tin can or jam jar

Remember, whatever Craft-In you decide to hold, by supporting us in these challenging times for fundraising, you are helping to provide our specialist Carer Advocate support services to local people in your community who need it most.

Get Crafty for CAUSE at home or at work

If hosting a Craft-In for CAUSE is not your thing why not just Craft for CAUSE ie make items that we could sell and raise much needed funds for our support services.

We can email you a variety of crochet and knitting patterns eg for our lovely teddies and bunnies (in fact you can make lovely little teddies from a knitted square!)
