Be part of creating a new fundraising group in your local area to help us raise money for and awareness of CAUSE. Bring your creativity, energy and enthusiasm for fundraising to our team to help support people affected by a loved one’s serious mental illness and make sure no one in  your area faces the challenges of caring alone.

Do you have a great fundraising idea   but not sure how to put it into action? Why not get your community on board and set up a fundraising group to share your ideas with others in your area? We'll also support you every step of the way with a dedicated CAUSE contact.

Your group doesn’t have to be huge! Every person, every pound and every hour makes a huge difference, so you’ll have an impact whatever you decide to do.

What’s involved

  • Being creative to fundraise
  • Get creative coming up with ideas for your fundraising events in the future when restrictions ease – we’ve had everything from supermarket collections, fashion shows, quizzes, raffles to ’Strictly’ championships!
  • Organise and help out with your group’s fundraising events
  • Raise awareness of CAUSE for people affected by a loved one’s serious mental illness within your community.

What you will get out of it

  • Join an enthusiastic team of people who want to make a difference, just like you
  • Use and develop your fundraising and communication skills, enhancing your CV
  • Receive an induction, relevant training and agreed out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed within our guidelines.

How we’ll support you

We’ll be on hand to guide and advise you at every stage, and  you’ll receive lots of advice and support from our fundraising team, including:

  • fundraising materials such as banners and balloons
  • advice on how to set up a variety of fundraising events
  • help with planning a calendar of events
  • practical advice about licenses for street collections and larger raffles
  • advice on promoting your events in your community
  • information on handling money or setting up a bank account
  • the opportunity to attend some of CAUSE training and see how your money supports our carers.

How much time should I give?

This is a flexible role for which we’d suggest a few hours a month, or more if you have the time.

We know that more than one in four of us will have a mental health problem during our lifetime.  For some of us it will be the toughest challenge we ever face. Now, more than ever, we need people like you to join our team and help us make sure that no one faces this challenge alone.
